Outsourcing customer service: the questions buyers ask us
Straight answers from 35 years in contact centers, on costs, locations, timing and choosing the right partner.
How does Outsourcing Solutions Europe help you choose a BPO partner?
We start from your volumes, languages, channels and company culture. From more than 100 contact centers we have assessed on site, we shortlist 2 to 3 providers that fit, and make the introductions. Philippe Legal leads every engagement, drawing on 35 years in contact centers, first on the provider side.
How much does your service cost?
Partner selection is free for the client. The provider you choose pays our fee, and we tell you so from the first call.
Why use an advisor instead of contacting providers directly?
Going direct often means months of trial and error. We know the hidden costs, the common pitfalls and which centers really deliver, so you go from brief to launch in 2 to 10 weeks.
How long does it take to launch an outsourced service?
2 to 3 weeks for basic support, and up to 10 weeks for a full omnichannel service, including training, technology set-up and testing.
What is the difference between onshore, nearshore and offshore?
Onshore means a provider in your own country. Nearshore means a nearby country in a close time zone, such as Tunisia or Portugal for France, or Mexico for the United States: usually the best balance of cost, language and cultural fit. Offshore means distant, lower-cost regions such as the Philippines or India, best suited to high volumes.
What are typical hourly rates for outsourced customer service?
All-inclusive rates (staff, management, technology and infrastructure) are typically $30–55+ per hour onshore (US, UK, France), $12–28 nearshore (Tunisia, Morocco, Eastern Europe) and $10–18 offshore (India, Philippines). These are indicative ranges: the real price depends on skills, volume, opening hours and complexity.
Why choose Morocco or Tunisia for French and multilingual customer support?
Both countries share Europe's time zone, have strong cultural proximity with France and offer good French, English and European language skills at a competitive cost.
What is cultural fit, and why does it matter?
Technical skills are easy to find; cultural alignment is harder. We look for a partner that shares your brand's values, so its agents represent your company rather than just follow a script.
What services can a BPO partner take on?
Customer service, outbound calls and sales, chat, email and messaging, technical support, back-office tasks such as order processing and claims handling, and content moderation, in more than 40 languages.
Do you support us after the contract is signed?
Yes, if you wish. We can help with onboarding, set up the governance and reporting, and advise you as the partnership grows.
How do you manage the move from an in-house team to an outsourced one?
We recommend a phased approach that starts with a pilot, with knowledge transfer documented in clear procedures, so service quality holds throughout the transition.
Can you help with an outsourcing partnership that isn't performing?
Yes. We audit the operation, its KPIs and bottlenecks, then either help you improve it with your current provider or organise a smooth move to a better-suited partner.
